Things got a bit out of hand in Clewiston, Fla. this week when a pony escaped from his pasture and strolled down U.S. route 27. Thankfully, the right people were on the scene with carrots and a soothing touch to lure the culprit back to his home.
ABC News was one of the first networks to pick up the story after seeing an update on the police department's Facebook page.
One of the officers was dubbed "The Pony Whisperer" because she was able to lasso the animal and walk it back home (slowly) alongside her car.
"Pony was processed for Fleeing to Elude an officer," the post read. "After interviewing the pony, he was released as he was just trying to train for a future marathon."
The best part of the video comes at the end, when other ponies whinnied with delight upon seeing their friend return home safe and sound.
Good on ya, Clewiston PD.
