Netflix’s “Dogs” is not a show to be taken lightly. When the trailer dropped two weeks ago, I immediately sent it around to everyone I knew with a warning that there will be tears shed upon viewing. Sure enough, everyone felt the same.
The six-episode first season (I say first because I can only hope assume there will be more) works like a documentary, delving into exactly how important the relationships between humans and their dogs are. It’s at once fascinating and gut-wrenching when you see how far these pups go for their people.
And now that the show is officially streaming, the reactions are even better.
But what exceeds even the best emotional responses to the show is an even more pure situation: Everyone’s dogs love “Dogs” just as much as we do. And, really, it’d be a disservice to watch this show without the pups that made it possible.
And off I go to grab Stella and sob into her fur.
