At the beginning of every summer in your tweens, you would beg your parents/guardians to take you to the craft store to buy every single color of string (or plastic "gimp," depending on what was deemed cool at the time) so that you and your friends could sit in silence and make jewelry. Be it bracelets, necklaces or rings (good for you if you had such a meticulous touch), your summer days were devoted to making these pieces of crap art. For those of you who dared to weave said art into your hair, well, you were brave. What if the process got tangled and you had to cut it out? What would your mom say? If you were to snip even one strand she would spot it within moments of seeing you walk in the house.
Mom's Spanish Inquisition aside, let's revisit summer hair trends of yore. Try not to cringe while scrolling through your past.
