To anyone who claims they've "run out" of things to watch during quarantine: Have you seen all seven seasons of "New Girl"? No? Well, then pipe down and turn on Netflix.
The sitcom starring the all-star crew of Zooey Deschanel, Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris and Hannah Simone (with a brief two-season stint by Damon Wayans Jr.) is a treat, a delight, a dream of a show that deserves to be enjoyed by all. Even though it's been off the air since 2018, it's been climbing the ranks of Netflix while more and more new fans are onboarded to the organized chaos that is Jessica Day and co.'s loft.
The show would be great any day, but viewers are particularly relating to it while hanging out at home, practicing social distancing and maybe going a little stir crazy. No one character in "New Girl" (except maybe CeCe?) has their sh*t entirely together, and it seems like the relatability is comforting to a lot of us right about now.
Suffice it to say, we can all glean a little pleasure from Jess' social awkwardness, Winston's cluelessness, Schmidt's erratic perfectionism and CeCe's voice of reason...but it's Nick's resounding lack of motivation and inability to take his life seriously (not to mention his never-ending creativity -- True American, anyone?!) that is giving everyone serious quarantine vibes.
We hear ya, Miller!
