Yes, this movie is beloved.
Let’s start with why we love this movie so much: Robin
Williams. There was a point in the late '90s when Williams could do no wrong. He
was so funny in "Aladdin." He was touching in "Good Will Hunting." In this
movie, he was so harmless -- a man dressed in drag, pretending to be a woman, in a very non-threatening way (he looked like a grandma, after all). How cute! And then, after Williams' real life death, the movie became
sacred, encased in glass. But if you scratch the surface, the morality of "Mrs.
Doubtfire" is awful.
