Throughout the 2000s, I was growing up with Kidz Bop. It's up to its 39th album of youngsters singing covers of the top hits of today. I can't really put my finger on what's made Kidz Bop so popular throughout the years, other than the fact that they alter the more explicit lyrics to be kid-friendly, but it's pretty much as successful as the Now That's What I Call Music franchise at this point.
But Kidz Bop better watch its back, because Momz Bop is coming for it. Internet personalities, comics and, most importantly, mamas Leeann & Michelle posted a video promoting their new (not entirely real) album, "Momz Bop." The idea is the same: The duo covers songs that you've heard over and over again on the radio, this time putting a mom spin on it.
"Do today's Top 40 hits seem unrelatable in mom life? Don't worry, now there's 'Momz Bop!'" they introduce the video with.
The songs include "Havana" by Camila Cabello, "Thunder" by Imagine Dragons and "Meant to Be" by Bebe Rexha, spoofed into "Banana," "Mother" and "Gotta Pee," respectively.
Some of the mom issues tackled by the songs? Getting your kid to wear a sweater, trying to figure out why they won't eat a food they loved just last week and teaching your son not to get pee all over the toilet seat.
"I'm glad Bebe Rexha can sing about possibly finding love," said Michelle told TODAY. "Meanwhile, the boy moms are over here wiping pee off the walls because aim, apparently, does not come naturally."
"'Momz Bop' is not available in stores because moms don't shop in stores, it's too stressful!" they go on to say. Safe to say Leann and Michelle know their audience.
Plus, it's all super catchy.
