The Smithsonian Institution is made up of 19 museums, galleries and even a zoo, but what it’s missing is an exhibition dedicated to Angelique Cherie’s mother.
Cherie took to Twitter to document her family’s visit to the Smithsonian American Art Museum, but while the photography, paintings and statues usually speak for themselves, Cherie’s mom was the real standout piece.
“So my parents came to help me move to DC and I took them to the Smithsonian Art museum,” @tresAngelique tweeted. “My mom decided it was her time to shine.” And shine she did.
Standing next to priceless works of art, Cherie’s mom recreated each one wearing a simple American University T-shirt, jeans and white sneakers. The crossbody purse really drove home the “mom” factor, making her trip around the museum that much cuter.
She even took on Barack and Michelle Obama’s portraits and old CD covers of Beyoncé’s and Bette Midler’s, and can I just say she did right by them?
Cherie threw in some Boomerang videos, too, for good measure.
Though the tweets are only just now being widely circulated, Cherie’s mom is already accruing a fan base. And, I mean, I’m part of it.
I can only hope that I’m this into myself as a mom.
Have you been to any of the Smithsonian museums?
