Mindy Kaling is writing, producing and starring in both a television show and movie, doing press for a different movie, converting a film into a Hulu series...and did we mention she has an infant daughter at home?
"Champions," an NBC sitcom about a bachelor meeting the son he never knew he had is airing now; Kaling holds a recurring role as the teenager’s mother.
Meanwhile, news is spreading about “Late Night,” a full-length comedy that John Lithgow and Hugh Dancy just joined alongside Kaling and Emma Thompson. In the film, a late night host's (Thompson) show is threatened after she hires a revitalizing new female writer (Kaling).
And now Hulu has announced that Kaling is also planning on converting “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” the 1994 Hugh Grant romance, into a show for the streaming service with the help of “The Mindy Project” alum Matthew Wharburton. She’ll also be showing up in next month’s “Ocean’s 8.”
