Last September, Deadline reported that Engelson was developing a show for Fox that more or less imitated life. The premise: an American's wife leaves him for a British prince. The former couple then has to handle custody arrangements for their kids from two separate countries.
Last month, the New York Post reported that Engelson had put the show on hold after speaking with Markle.
"There is a feeling too that it is too soon for a TV network to go straight at the new royals given their popularity and it could flop,” a source told the newspaper.
Despite plans to premiere the show this summer, Engelson agreed not to move forward at this time, per Markle's request.
“She did reach out to him — with Harry’s agreement — to thank him for not telling their story in public."
