It’s the best part of the muffin, Jerry!
McDonald’s has been
so busy trying to get us to eat Egg McMuffins for lunch that it forgot people
still eat breakfast. Morning sales have been in the toilet since all-day
breakfast was introduced, so to give them a boost, McDonald’s hopped
in their time machine and went to 1997 looking for answers.
Stealing an idea from "Seinfeld" character Elaine Benes, McDonald’s has added a muffin top to its menu -- the best part of the muffin, in everyone’s opinion. Elaine said it best: “It’s crunchy, it’s explosive. It’s where the muffin breaks free.” No word yet on which flavors will be available, but McDonald’s had
previously tested McCafe Muffin Toppers in Blueberry, Double Chocolate and Lemon
Poppy Seed in some markets. We’re wondering what McDonald’s plans to do with
all those muffin stumps, though...?
If you remember, the muffin top wasn’t the only brilliant invention to come out of "Seinfeld." Kramer was a big Idea Guy and had a whole bunch of schemes
up his sleeve. We decided to check in on these things to see if anyone developed
them into million dollar ideas. Does anyone have the number for "Shark Tank"?
