No matter how you envision your engagement, you probably don’t get it completely right. Your version of a perfect proposal won’t be your proposer’s version, and you’ll probably find that any way it ends up happening will be the best way. Plus, it should be natural!
Edi Okoro knew that.
In a Facebook post celebrating his recent engagement to Cally Read, Okoro wrote, "Some plan a flash mob, a fancy meal or even arrange a 'marry me' sign. I couldn't do this because 'Edi doesn't plan'...I'm a spontaneous improviser!"
So, instead of planning anything at all, Okoro brought the ring around with him -- everywhere. After almost being caught admiring the ring while Read was around, Okoro realized that he could turn his standby proposal into a game.
He started taking as many photos with both Read and her soon-to-be ring in the shot without her knowing. And, sure enough, Read was none the wiser, even with some of these super-close calls:
“The idea was to take as many photos, in more daring scenarios, until I found the perfect moment to propose, or until I got caught, at which point I would propose!” Okoro wrote.
He even got her holding the ring in one (not so flattering) photo.
This went on for about a month, until the proposal finally happened and Read was able to take a photo with her ring in its rightful place.
The rest of the internet will have to wait to find out exactly how the engagement went down, but we wish the happy couple the best!
