Tonight, at least one person was killed when a van plowed through pedestrians on London Bridge tonight at around 10:00 p.m. local time.
Witnesses told news outlets that a white van "came swerving down the road at a high rate of speed," and the BBC reports that police have confirmed at least one fatality from that incident.
In London's Borough Market, a waitress and a patron were stabbed by someone who then fled the restaurant; there were also reports of a shooting.
A security guard told the BBC that he saw four people stabbed by three attackers. "Everybody started running," he said, recalling that there "was screaming." The guard said he did see three attackers, "one of whom long knife and stabbing people, including a girl in her early 20s."
According to NBC News, a pub employee in the market said he heard someone yell, "knives, knives, knives." He then recalled three people holding knives and wearing body armor in the market. One of the men moved "block to block the door and people inside heard shooting outside."
About 50 minutes ago, police responded to a third incident in the borough of Vauxhall. At press time, the three incidents are being treated as possible terrorist attacks.
