Everyone's relationship with fitness looks a little different, but I think most of us can say that singing at the top of our lungs during a treadmill run isn't quite in our repertoire. But, well, we're not professional singers.
Miley Cyrus recently shared a video of herself prepping for her Super Bowl Sunday performance -- the singer will be headlining the first ever "TikTok Tailgate" pre-show -- where she belts out "Rebel Girls" by Bikini Kill while keeping pace on a treadmill. And sounding flawless all the while, of course.
She followed it up with another clip, this time singing her single "Plastic Hearts," also on the treadmill, but this time at a brisk walk. Still.
Feeling inspired, Lizzo followed Miley's lead: "Doing this for all the big girls out there," she said, enjoying a healthy jog while singing her song "'Cuz I Love You." This, I'd say, proved to be a little tougher than Miley's songs, just because there's a bit of rapping and quick phrasing in this song, but then again, what do I know.
Lizzo chose to sing the explicit version of the song, FYI.
And then Alicia Keys got in the mix and fittingly sang her song "Superwoman" while tapping it back on the Peloton. She was already kind of out of breath before she even started singing and kept a pretty good pace!
Whatever way you look at it, all these ladies clearly have exceptional lungs and breath control. I mean, when someone tries to talk to me when I'm on the treadmill, I simply glare back, as that's the extent of my abilities. Lizzo was at least honest during her set, admitting, "Why did I choose this song, it's so hard!" during a particularly tough bit of verse.
We'll let the professionals do their thing.
