1. Punky told us it was okay to be unique.
Punky was always mismatched -- random socks, multicolored
shoes, a snaggletoothed grin and ponytails slightly askew. She wore bandanas on
her knee for no particular reason and she had her own sense of primary colored-style, like a
demented Rainbow Brite. We respected that even as kids and learned to take
fashion risks as a result.
