You’ll remember (or, maybe not) Lea Michele from way back when she was playing goody-two-shoes Rachel Berry on “Glee,” but she’s been so much more than that for some time now.
First of all, her voice is out of this world. She has two albums out, not including her “Glee” covers -- which are sometimes better than the originals, don’t @ me -- and she’s landed a few more prominent acting roles while also publishing a few books.
What makes her engagement so damn inspiring, though, is knowing her past with fellow “Glee” star, Cory Monteith, who passed away in 2013 while the two were dating. Michele didn’t shy away from the bleak situation, however, instead celebrating Monteith’s life with the world as often as she could, commemorating anniversaries and getting tattoos that represent him.
Now, Michele is happily announcing to the world her engagement to Zandy Reich, a lifelong friend who she’s been dating since last year.
This isn't all Michele has been celebrating lately -- she recently announced that she, along with former co-star Darren Criss, will be going on tour together, headlining a show that will combine “Glee” hits, Broadway tunes and the original music of each performer.
I’ve never been so happy for someone I’ve never met, but it warms my little heart to see her thriving after such heartbreak. Congrats to the happy couple!
