I am not emotionally stable enough for this kind of loss.
After eight seasons of playing Northern heartthrob Jon Snow, "Game of Thrones" actor Kit Harington has confirmed that he will cut this luscious locks in an attempt to differentiate himself from the character that put him on the map.
“I’d like to step away and enjoy the obscurity, cut my hair, make myself less recognizable as the character and go do and some other things with a completely new look and tone,” Harington told Entertainment Weekly.
OK, I get it. Harington doesn't want to be known as Jon Snow for the rest of his life. But he's literally marrying his wildling girlfriend from the show (Rose Leslie) IRL and they are going to make beautiful wildling babies together. Snow is one of the most iconic characters on GoT. Can't we all just hold onto that a little while longer? How short could he possibly go?
“Short-short,” Harington said. “The beard will be harder to get rid of -- I quite like the beard. I like having the long hair and beard both, but it will be like ritualistic thing. I can’t go into my next role looking the same. This role was brilliant, but I’ll need to get rid of Jon Snow.”
Obviously, this wouldn't be the first time someone in Hollywood made a drastic change following a pivotal role like this. Emma Watson chopped her hair off into a daring pixi cut after "Harry Potter" wrapped, and Jennifer Lawrence debuted her blonde lob shortly after finishing "The Hunger Games."
They say change is good, but I am not happy about this. Let's all say a little prayer that Harington gets cast as a Norse king in his next role.
