Everyone on the internet right now is trying to figure out if Khloé Kardashian is engaged to Tristan Thompson, the father of her 2-year-old daughter, True. Kardashian and Thompson broke up in 2019 after about three years together amid the Jordyn Woods scandal. They've stayed close, though, co-parenting their daughter and staying a continued presence in each other's lives.
As time has gone on, the two have grown closer and closer, seemingly re-establishing their romantic relationship in full and even discussing having more babies together. So when Kardashian started posting photos wearing a diamond on that finger, it was like...duh. I don't think anyone would be surprised if they'd been engaged for quite some time, actually.
What I am surprised at is the sheer size of her ring.
I'm sure I've said this over and over again -- diamonds like Demi Lovato's and Ariana Grande's (neither of whom still wear those specific rocks) were some of the biggest I'd ever seen, not to mention Jennifer Lopez's. But Kardashian's is on another level, and last night we finally got an up-close-and-personal look at it.
She tagged her nail designer in this photo, trying to pass off the post like it was all about the springtime manicure. Save it, Khlo! Comments on the post were split, with some friends and fans focusing only on the nail art while others -- most notably Thompson himself -- reacting to the diamond.
Experts estimate the pear-shaped diamond is around 13 carats, with smaller 1-carat side stones, and valued around $2.5 million -- excuse me while I stop breathing. If this isn't an engagement ring, it's a pretty obnoxious display of wealth, that's for sure.
Kardashian hasn't commented on the purpose of the ring -- like I said, we all assume she's engaged anyway, so why waste time on an official announcement? -- despite having been wearing it since last summer, first appearing around her 36th birthday in June. Since then, it's appeared in Good American promo shots on her Instagram as well as in more candid, personal photos with her daughter.
She's not exactly being coy about it, you know?
Khlo, your business is your business -- just know that we care more about the details of this ring than who gave it to you.
