It's the summer of Keanu, didn't you hear? Reeves is making a movie splash lately, with a stint in Netflix's "Always Be My Maybe" with Ali Wong and Randall Park; another chapter of his "John Wick" series; and, of course, a brand spankin' new character for "Toy Story 4."
The world has taken notice of Reeves' resurgence, naturally: The best meme on the internet right now is "Keanu Reeves Doing Things."
In "Always Be My Maybe," Reeves plays himself (to a point -- you're not supposed to like him) as the short-lived love interest of Wong's lead, Sasha. The two entertain a quick, steamy romance that ultimately leads Wong back into the arms of her One True Love™, Park's Marcus. This film's Reeves is all about seeking truth and understanding your spirit -- very transcendental stuff.
His character in "Toy Story 4," meanwhile, is the complete opposite. Duke Caboom is Canada's greatest stuntman and isn't afraid to let people know it.
A clip of Reeves recording for Duke Caboom surfaced recently and gives us a glimpse into the actor's methods. Turns out, when Duke strikes a pose on his motorcycle, Reeves does, too. The video caught plenty of eyes (evidenced by its 118,000 likes on Twitter), but it caught a specific eye: Chris Evans', who apparently is a huge Keanu fan.
The two starred in "Street Kings" together in 2008, and it looks like there's been an unrequited crush going unnoticed.
Are you as excited to see "Toy Story 4"? We'll stand by for Evans' official review.
