When you're a rambunctious 3-year-old with nothing but a scepter and crown in your future, it's only natural to want to do something that will shock your future subjects.
Prince George did just that, according to his bemused father, the Duke of Cambridge.
Prince William told KISS FM DJ Adam King today that George had recently managed to unwrap a few presents under the tree.
William, along with the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, attended a Christmas party for counselors and volunteers from The Mix, a charity that assists people going through difficult times, particularly homelessness and mental illness.
"I had a really nice chat with Prince William who told me that this was their last week at work, as it were, before Christmas," King, who works with the charity, told the Daily Mail.
"He said they were all really excited about it and that George is already opening his presents. He thought it quite funny. That's kids for you, even the ones that are princes!"
For today's engagement, Catherine wore a Cai floral-print silk-jacquard dress by Vanessa Seward ($623), a new designer for the mom-of-two, who cinched the dress at the waist with an Alexander McQueen belt. According to Twitter user @AnnieElizabethN, Catherine paired the look with Gianvito Rossi black suede pumps, a Mulberry clutch and Fern hoop earrings by jeweler Catherine Zoraida.
As for Harry, some reporters noticed he looked a bit subdued. Yesterday, he reportedly dropped girlfriend Meghan Markle off at Heathrow Airport after spending the week together in London. It's assumed that the new couple will not celebrate Christmas together at the Queen's Sandringham estate, since protocol dictates that only wives and husbands of royals are invited.
The Daily Express reports that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge won't be having Christmas lunch with Her Majesty and the rest of the family. Instead, they are going to spend the day with Catherine's family at their home in Bucklebury, and then go pheasant shooting on Boxing Day.
This is the second time that the Cambridges will miss Christmas lunch with the royals; in 2012, the couple stayed with Catherine's parents, since she was pregnant with Prince George and suffering from acute morning sickness.
