It’s mid January of a new year, which means people are settling into their resolutions (probably deciding whether it’s all worth it or not) and reflecting on the years behind them. The #10YearChallenge has sprung up on the internet this week, prompting everyone to post photos of themselves from 2009 alongside fresh-faced, current portraits. Whether the goal is a narcissistic way to say, “See how good I look now?!” or a testament to some personal goal over the past decade, it’s only been vaguely entertaining.
Unless the 10-year difference is stark with a certain humble quality to it, there’s not much to it. Ariana Grande and Snooki are good examples.
Jonathan Van Ness, though, just blew everyone out of the water:
I couldn’t help but compare some of his old photos to other top-rated people and eras that he reminded me of back then.

We appreciate your evolution, JVN.
But then there are other celebs whose 10-Year Challenges are just boasting about either 1: Their great genes, or 2: How they haven't aged a day, like Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lopez and Reese Witherspoon.
You guys look great, cool, GOOD FOR YOU. The rest of us will keep our old photos off of social media for the greater good, thankyouverymuch.
