There's something about Ina Garten I just like. Everything she says and does is very soothing, from the presentation of her food to the way she talks about her husband, Jeffrey. At this particular moment in time (you know...pandemic, etc.), what I needed more than anything in the world was to scroll through Ina's Instagram account and take myself on a self-guided house tour.
Garten's newest book, "Modern Comfort Food," was two years in the making, so she had no idea she'd be creating recipes for an audience going through a global pandemic. Not to mention a major presidential election that was just one month away.
"I thought everybody, no matter what side of the aisle you’re on, was going to need comfort food," Garten told New York Magazine earlier this month. "Little did I know that at this point in time, it would be the, you know, the nexus of all of the race demonstrations and COVID and the election and all the stress that’s happening in the world — just extraordinary. Turns out we needed it more than ever.”
