After four long years since the sequel was released, "How to Train Your Dragon 3" finally has a release date -- and a title. In preparation for the Annecy International Animation Film Festival happening in June, DreamWorks Animation officially announced that the third and final film in the franchise will be called "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World." Let's all release a collective eeeeeekk!
In addition to the title, the animation studio released a bit of the film's synopsis, and it sounds like there may be trouble ahead for our pal Toothless.
"As Hiccup fulfills his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia, Toothless's discovery of an untamed, elusive mate draws the Night Fury away," it reads. "When danger mounts at home and Hiccup's reign as village chief is tested, both dragon and rider must make impossible decisions to save their kind."
A short preview of the movie will debut at the Annecy Festival, but if it's anything like the first two, it's safe to say we have nothing to worry about. Fans agree; many took to Twitter to share their excitement about the new title and upcoming film.
"How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" hits theaters March 1, 2019.
