I don’t own a gas grill myself, but my parents do, and growing up the best summer dinners were grilled steak and veggies served out on the patio as the sun went down. It never really occurred to me that I could one day grill my own dinners -- it’s always been a strictly parental skill to me.
But that’s ridiculous. Any grown woman should know how to manage a grill should the opportunity ever arise. I love to cook, so the next step is figuring out how to cook outside on a grill with a Corona in one hand and my future husband staring at me adoringly because yeah, his wife is cool.
So before you default to dear old Dad to grill you up some burgers and dogs, let’s try to learn ourselves, hmm? Unless you’re using a charcoal grill, then you’re on your own.
