As the year goes on, it can be tough to feel like we can wholeheartedly rely on much. Schedules are up in the air, businesses are in a constant state of change and everything is just in a bit of a tizzy, ya know? But in times of despair, heroes arise...and 2020's hero is the 12-foot Home Depot skeleton.
Listed for $299 at the home improvement store, this imposing creature is large, in charge and even comes with light-up eyes for a truly sinister presence. While you'd normally see something like this and go, "Who would ever buy that?", we're happy to report that people are, indeed, buying it.
The monstrous monster has become somewhat of a celebrity on social media, with "fans" of his, if you will, sharing photos whenever they happen upon him in their neighborhoods. It's like watching a shooting star fly across the sky or catching the clock at 11:11 -- pretty much meaningless, but inexplicably wondrous nonetheless.
As it is, the skeleton is too ridiculous, IMO, to work as a truly "spooky" decoration, so instead of applauding the Halloween decor prowess of those who display it, the general reaction to seeing the giant out in the wild is one of delight and awe. Even the most detailed and well-planned scary set-ups just look comical with the addition of an insane 12-foot-tall skeleton.
And, like any other internet sensation, it's become a trending topic.
I hope the 12-foot Home Depot skeleton is having a good day.
Would you spend nearly $300 on the majesty of this skeleton?
