The Chosen One Returns: Hayden Christensen Cast as Darth Vader in "Obi-Wan Kenobi" Series
“Star Wars” fans, rejoice! In a galaxy far, far, away, Disney announced the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader yesterday in the upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series, and the former dream team has been confirmed to exchange blows once more! The Disney+ show, set 10 years after “Revenge of the Sith,” sees the titular fan favorite Jedi Master (Ewan McGregor) evading Jedi hunters on Tatooine. We last saw Christensen reprise his character as Anakin in a voice-over for “The Rise of Skywalker,” but he hasn’t been seen as the iconic Sith Lord for 15 years. Of the reunion, McGregor said on the investors’ call: “The fans have been waiting long enough...it’ll be amazing to bring those characters back together again, very unexpectedly.”
In addition to “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” Disney released a slew of teasers for nine new Disney+ shows set within the "Star Wars" universe: “Willow,” “A Droid Story,” “The Acolyte,” “Lando,” “Star Wars: Visions,” “The Bad Batch,” “Andor,” “Rangers of the New Republic” and “Ahsoka.” Oh, and did we mention that Taika Waititi and Patty Jenkins are slated to direct two movies? While further details are yet to be released, one thing's for certain: It's time to get ready for more “Star Wars” stories!
