I love Disney World. It would be impossible not to! The magic, the rides, the Mickey-shaped pretzels around every corner -- no matter how old you are, you can have a good time there. The only issue with this fantastical land? Out of all the parks, Magic Kingdom is the only one that doesn't serve booze -- until now.
Disney announced in a press release last week that three restaurants inside the park have added adult bevvys to their menus, six years after the restaurant Be Our Guest became the first (and only) to serve alcohol. Now, Plaza Restaurant, Crystal Palace and the Diamond Horseshoe have been added to the ranks, each with a unique beer and wine menu fitting the specific restaurant's theme. No hard alcohol, unfortunately, but we'll take what we can get.
The rule still applies that only sit-down restaurants can serve booze, so you won't be able to carry a frosty mug with you for an extra loopy ride on the teacups anytime soon. But hey -- if you can get a solid buzz going during lunch before resuming to chase the kiddos around the 107-acre park, wouldn't you take advantage of it?
Twitter has taken to celebrating this news with the hashtag #HammeredDisney, which is pretty representative of how I usually am while drinking around the world in Epcot. A couple beers followed by a go at Space Mountain? Count me in!
