In the company's never ending quest to streamline our lives, Google just announced that it's launching the video calling app Duo. The app works on all phones (no #teamapple vs. #teamandroid debates here) and is free to download.
According to Google, Duo is meant to take "the complexity out of video calling, so that you can be together in the moment wherever you are." And judging by the initial product launch, it looks to be doing just that. Users don't need a Google account to use Duo (unlike a lot of other apps through the company), just an active phone number. Another great thing-- Duo provides users with a live video preview of callers before picking up. Now you can get an idea of why your friends are calling before accepting their video chat.
All of this sounds great, but what about the other video calling apps available out there? Here are some of our top picks.
