Did George R. R. Martin Just Say He Might Be Finishing His Next "Game of Thrones" Book Soon?

Famed author George R. R. Martin keeps saying he's going to finish his "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, also known as the premise of HBO's "Game of Thrones," but we haven't actually seen him follow through. To date, Martin has written five of the proposed seven books in the series, which served as the subject matter for GoT up until about season 6. A lot of fans who were disappointed with the end of the show have been hoping that they'll get redemption from Martin's own conclusion (hi), but he hasn't published a new installment since 2012 with "A Dance of Dragons." Quarantine, though, has apparently helped him focus on the sixth book, as he wrote on his website that he's "spending long hours every day" on the book and "making steady progress."
