In 2012, Frank Ocean released a masterpiece in the form of a debut album, "Channel ORANGE." Four years, endless song teasers and multiple fake release dates later, and we were convinced Frank Ocean had dried up into a Frank desert. But an unfathomable miracle of nature occurred on Saturday, August 20th 2016 -- the desert turned into a tsunami, and the highly anticipated sophomore album “Blond,” was finally released via Apple Music. Of course, the internet reacted the only way it knew how.
Frank, apparently determined to kill all of his fans by mind explosion, dropped two different versions of his album (one version as a digital stream and the other as physical CD’s), a visual album titled “Endless,” a 360-paged magazine called “Boys Don’t Cry” and a jarring music video for the album’s first track, “Nikes.” As one fan aptly put it:
It’s been a wild, emotional journey for Frank’s fans over the past year, since the first teased release date that left us more disappointed than Warrior fans after the 2016 NBA Finals. But now that the album has finally dropped, the internet’s reactions have been nothing short of entertaining.
