Doing your part to help the world can happen in tons of different ways: from donating funds to donating your time, there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to making a difference.
As the Australian bushfires rage on, the world is coming together to do everything we can to aid the firefighting efforts. Those who can are making major donations, while others are using their...unique talents to chip in. Even shopping at brands dedicated to donations is a workaround way to contribute.
The most recent initiative to help Australia's environment and wildlife? The Koala Challenge.
Geared more toward fitness enthusiasts than the average couch potato, the Koala Challenge encourages you to make a video hanging from a workout bench (or person, if you're so inclined) like, you know, a koala would hang from a branch.
For every video submitted, $5 will be donated to the firefighters and other humanitarian groups in Australia.
Spearheaded by fitness beverage brand FITAID, the challenge requires you to start on your belly and swing around to the underside of the workout bench and back up again, all without ever touching the floor. Believe it not, it's harder than it seems.
No bench? No problem.
Luckily, the challenge doesn't necessarily say you have to successfully hang from your bench or your friend, so why not head to your local gym with an Instagram buddy and try it out? Plenty before you have failed, trust us.
Social media may be a cesspool of nonsense most of the time, but at least we can come together and embarrass ourselves at the gym for a good cause.
