After 18 long years of waiting and wondering if a "Life-Size" sequel would ever come, the film is finally happening and we've been blessed with a sneak peek. Although the preview is only 15 seconds long (I know, I wish I had more to offer you), we still catch a glimpse of the lovely Tyra Banks, who will reprise her role as Eve, as well as Eve's new special friends.
The sequel follows the story of Grace (Francia Raisa), a 25-year-old CEO trying to navigate her life as the HBIC at a toy company as well as a woman in her mid-20s having a quarter-life crisis. Obviously, Eve will be there to guide her and save the day, along with her razzle-dazzle raincoat (we hope).
“I connected a lot with Grace because she’s going through a lot of the pain I went through in my 20s, and it was so relatable,” Raisa told EW. “The essence of the movie is to have this guardian looking over you, this best friend who helps you find yourself...Grace was lost, just like [Lohan's character] was in the first one, and she’s found because she’s introduced to a new type of love she didn’t know she had within herself, or that people could have towards her. It has the essence of the first one, but it just grows up with everyone else.”
Lohan isn't appearing as a leading cast member in the film, but she will play a small role and "something beautiful" will happen with her character, according to Banks.
“Eve’s here to show [Grace] you can be that boss b*tch,” Banks, who is also producing the film, said, adding that Eve “becomes less doll-like, more human” this time around. “I play her differently now. There are a little bit more layers and much more comedy. There’s something I find a bit more endearing with this Eve than the first one...I think a part of it is approaching it from a producer’s perspective…I feel like I’m stronger because it’s [more fulfilling] to make something better than to do it from scratch.”
"Life-Size 2" will premiere on Dec. 2 as a part of Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas.
