TBH, this is the only thing I can think about when I hear the term “facial popsicle.”
But what if this kid is on to something?
Dr. Arleen Lamba is, at least. The skin expert and founder of Blush Med Skincare, a skin training regimen, is promoting a DIY popsicle for your face. You’re able to cool down your skin during the summer months with a frozen serum packed full of ingredients that promote healthy skin.
The “popsicles” (yes the ingredients are edible, no do not eat the pops anyway) originated in France, but Lamba developed an at-home version -- there are tons of DIY face masks and lotions out there, why not frozen face sticks?
When you step out into humid air, instead of evaporating right away, your sweat is absorbed back into your skin and adds to pore blockages and stuffy skin. Try commuting 40 minutes via subway for a week and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Blush puts together skin “workouts” for their clients, this months’ being these popsicles. By packing them with hyaluronic acid, the pops are the perfect treatment for the dehydrated and greasy skin that usually abounds come summertime.
The three “flavors” Blush is promoting include Charcoal Smoothie (active charcoal and Greek yogurt mixed together), Calm Down (cucumber water and turmeric for anti-redness agents) and Just Rosey (rose water, mint and coconut water).
The only instruction we’re given is to freeze the ingredients in a popsicle mold or ice tray and apply to our faces. Exactly how you’d like to go about that is up to you, but I’m taking a page out of that ice cream kid’s book.
