What does a facial steamer do?
If you've ever gotten a facial at a spa or salon, you probably remember them steaming your face for a while before doing anything else to it. How do I use it?
First, you'll want to make sure your face is clean before you do any kind of steaming. Remove makeup, and use a cleanser to get any and all residue off of your skin so there's nothing in the way of the steam. When you're ready, fill the steamer with distilled water to the fill line. Yes, distilled water is actually better, because it doesn't have any of the chemicals or heavy metals that some tap water can have.
After that, it's simple! Turn the machine on, cover your head with a towel and steam for 5 to 10 minutes. For best results, most professionals recommend you follow with a mask that will help remove impurities, since it will be able to get into your pores so much easier now that they're open. Then, moisturize like your life depends on it to lock in all the moisture you just added.
