Well, we're officially halfway through 2017 and it looks like this year is giving the flaming dumpster fire that was 2016 a run for its money. Sometimes it feels as though for every celebrity death we faced in the previous year, this year one-upped it with some kind of major political world drama. Really, it's been a great year for shocking headlines and that's about it.
But if you've been feeling down and out about 2017, don't worry, there's finally something great to read about! And it features a video with cute animals! How magical.
A security camera at the Grand Park Zoo in Seoul, South Korea recently recorded footage of two adult elephants rescuing a baby elephant after it fell in the compound's pond. The elephant calf was playing by the water when it stumbled and fell in. Unable to swim, it was a tense scene for a moment.
Luckily, the nearby adult elephants kicked it into high gear and swooped in to save the baby. Working in tandem, the adults guided the baby elephant to the pond's ledge and hoisted it up using their trunks. From there, they coached the calf through climbing up and on to solid ground.
Best of all, none of the elephants were injured. As for me, well I finally feel something warm nestled in the middle of my chest. Could that be my heart? Did it just grow three sizes in one day?? If anything can turn a jaded heart soft, it's these elephants.
