We all know that Disneyland is the most magical place on earth, but what happens when that magic and attention to detail is magnified to the highest possible level? Well, it gets pretty fancy and very, very expensive.
At Disneyland California's new 21 Royal restaurant, visitors can get top-notch treatment for the bargain price of $15,000 per night for a party of 12 guests. Yes, that equals about $1,250 per person. For one night. But, before you get all hot and bothered over the price, let me tell you what this all entails.
The 21 Royal experience begins by entering Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa where you'll be greeted and lead into the residence -- your own private apartment overlooking New Orleans Square, decorated in Empire style made popular in 19th century New Orleans. A butler will welcome you through the grand entryway into what was once Walt and Lillian Disney's private residence in the park.
As the evening continues, you and your guests will enjoy a cocktail hour where you can explore the residence and chat with 21 Royal's private sommelier. Drinks lead to dinner where chefs perform what they call "epicurean theater" -- dinner and a show! The seven-course menu is specially planned for each individual group and the chefs will introduce each course before they begin. This introduction could include anything from pairing suggestions to stories about what inspired them to create that specific dish.
Following dinner, your group will move onto the spacious balcony while you enjoy coffee and desserts. The balcony overlooks the Rivers of America and if you're lucky you'll even see a fireworks display.
