Stories of ghosts and spirits inhabiting public places is nothing new, but there's something eerie about the happiest place on earth being haunted.
Bustle decided to investigate an urban legend that Disneyland can't shake. According to lore, there is a particular ghost who haunts the famed Matterhorn Bobsleds.
In 1984, Disneyland guest Regena Young -- nicknamed “Dolly” -- was riding alone in the last bobsled when she was thrown from her seat. Dolly, 48, was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, and after being ejected was struck by another bobsled on the track.
Since Dolly was riding alone, the question of her unbuckled seatbelt being intentional or accidental is still disputed to this day.
The lack of details surrounding Dolly's death have some wondering if she is still there; one particular drop, named "Dolly's Dip," is said to be haunted by her ghost.
Both ride operators and cast members not assigned to Matterhorn have reportedly admitted to feeling her presence and hearing strange noises when the bobsleds are empty.
Bustle didn't uncover any strong evidence pointing towards proof a spirit, only reports and heresay.
“The information is all of the ‘It’s said that…’ variety, rather than the ‘This happened to me’ sort,” she noted.
