In what has to be the cutest "welcome back" effort ever, teacher Dwayne Reed wrote, filmed and edited a music video for his incoming students. It's basically the hottest mixtape that's dropped all summer. The fourth grade teacher's project definitely stands out from the typical letter students and parents usually get at the beginning of the school year. And not only does it get an A+ for effort, it gets an A+ for catchiness too!
Reed is new to teaching and rapping, but that didn't stop him from trying. At the end of the day, he just wants to connect with students on their level, and that usually isn't through long lectures and formal papers.
"If I can get my kids on board, connecting with me before I even meet them. I've hit the jackpot," he said in an interview with CBS.
This might be Reed's first year as a teacher, but if the rest of the year goes as well as this, I'm guessing he'll do just fine.
