1. Walker Hayes
Walker Hayes, known for the poppy hit “You Broke Up With Me,” released his first single “Pants” in 2010 but ended up working at a Costco to support himself after losing his record contract and not getting the response he would have liked from his singles. Now with Monument Records, Hayes recently recorded “‘90s Country,” a song reminiscent of Anne-Marie’s “2002” with its nostalgic lyrics.
Known for touring with Thomas Rhett during last year’s Home Team Tour, Hayes has had a tough go in the industry; with six kids to provide for and a seventh that didn’t make it through childbirth, he’s slowly but surely getting on our radar. His songs are both catchy and real, and his slinky voice is super charming to listen to. His album “boom” is filled with fun beats and draws comparisons to Sam Hunt with some slight. hip-hop influences.
