New writers are always trying to pen the Next Great American Novel, and recent tomes are making pretty good contenders -- "The Goldfinch," "All the Light We Cannot See," "Americanah" and the late, great Toni Morrison's "Beloved," for example, could very well be up there with "The Great Gatsby" one day. But what about the ones that already established themselves as such?
