In case you missed it, Chris Evans (AKA Captain America) unintentionally shared a very personal pic to his Instagram stories over the weekend. Rather than mock him, though, Fans rushed to his aid, as
Captain America has responded to the call for help so many times. With the hashtag
#ChrisEvans, fans began flooding Twitter with pics of...his dog.
Evans has been candid about his almost career-ending anxiety in the past. "It was the first time I started having mini panic
attacks on set," the actor said of his experience filming the movie “Puncture.” So, his fans know that this personal gaffe might be more than a little upsetting for him.
Their answer has been to overwhelm the #ChrisEvans hashtag on Twitter and Instagram with other
pics so that the embarrassing ones were buried. They turned to Evans' dog Dodger, who is
already a bit of a celebrity himself, as Evans frequently posts cuteness traps of
the pup to his Instagram page.
Evans adopted Dodger from
a shelter in 2015 while filming the movie “Gifted.” They’ve been best buds ever
since, with Evans frequently posting about their reunions after he returns
from filming and Dodger’s recent surgery earlier this year.
Evans' fans circled around him like a protective wolf pack.
I mean, can anyone really compete with these photos?
They even match! Am I crazy or do they look alike?
Fans even shared memories about that time Evans tried to give Dodger a quarantine cut -- and failed. It doesn't seem like Dodger is holding a grudge, though.
Look at that face! That paw! He is the best.
Just two sweet Boston bois, rooting for the Pats.
Here's our contribution: Behold Dodger, the bed hog. This is the bedroom selfie we want to see.
Evans was sure to have the last word on the subject and turn it into something positive. He returned to Twitter after a few days off with a cheeky message encouraging his fans to
vote:
Dogs and democracy? How very all-American. Cap
approves!
