While the world continues to change and adapt around us, it can be hard to keep up. Our routines have been interrupted, our surroundings rendered unfamiliar and our usual sources of comfort taken away for now. With everything looking a little different and feeling hard to come to terms with, it's important to take some time for yourself to reflect on how you're feeling and organize your thoughts before they begin to spiral. There are plenty of ways to do that, of course (meditation, art, music), but have you given journaling a try?
Journaling is a wholly personal practice, meaning that it's all about what works for you. It's basically an individual therapy session, where you can detail thoughts and feelings about any kind of stress you're feeling and brainstorm solutions on combating that. But at its core, journaling is a way to organize your mind; when everything is laid out in front of you on paper, instead of swirling around your brain untethered, it's easier to understand why you feel the way you do. It gets you in tune with yourself in a way that you may have been missing out on, where you can explore emotions on your own terms.
Of course, you can't start journaling without a beautiful journal. (I mean, you can, but why not make it fun?) A journal with a cover that you love is just insurance that you'll begin your journaling session on a high note. Here are 10 journals that we think would make a welcome addition to your mindfulness practice.
