Have you ever been so overcome with emotion that you can’t physically move? It’s something that is common among adults, who sometimes need to take a moment to process what’s happening before responding accordingly.
It’s not very common, however, to see a child stand in place because he or she wasn’t mentally prepared for a giant wave of feels.
Such was the case for young Sean, who froze in place at the sight of his father, Captain Ian Gavagan, who had arrived home in Dublin, Ireland on Oct. 5 after a six-month tour of duty to the Golan Heights on the Israel-Syria border.
As Captain Gavagan's wife and daughter raced to hug him, Sean hung back because sometimes you. Just. Can't. Deal.
Irish TV reporter Stephanie Grogan, who was there to cover the 55th Infantry Group's homecoming, captured it all on Twitter.
We can't blame you, Sean. We're going to voluntarily put ourselves in a glass case of emotion. Watch the video in full on Youtube.
