1. "Americanah" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is an author that everyone needs to read at least once. Her commentary on identity in all of her works is unmatched, and if you ever have the chance to hear her speak, you should (at least watch her Ted Talk). In “Americanah,” the Nigerian-born writer tells a fictional story of two young Nigerians who leave for the U.S. and U.K., only to reunite later on with different outlooks on their lives.
