On Friday, every "Real Housewives" franchise was officially overshadowed by the premiere of Netflix's newest reality series, "Bling Empire" (think "Crazy Rich Asians" come to life).
These people are wealthy. So wealthy that they make Bravo's most popular women look poor by comparison. They're all eccentric as hell (of course) and most come from rather insane backgrounds. For instance, Anna Shay (who is a crowd favorite) is of Russian-Japanese descent and her "money comes from weapons. Her father sells bombs, guns..." Shay's late father founded Pacific Architects and Engineers, a defense contracting firm that has worked with the U.S. government since 1955. Shay and her brother sold the company in 2006 for $1.2 billion and her reported net worth is $600 million. She is the crown jewel of "Bling Empire."
Another cast member, Kelly Mi Li, is entangled in an on-again/off-again relationship with Andrew Gray, who played the red Power Ranger in one of the "Power Ranger" TV shows that aired between 2013 and 2015, according to IMDB. Theirs is a volatile relationship that unfolds in front of an audience that keeps yelling at the TV, "Girl, dump him!"
All in all, "Bling Empire" is very fun to watch. What's even more fun is reading the reactions on Twitter. Let's do that!
