Blake Lively has been busy promoting her upcoming movie with Anna Kendrick, "A Simple Favor," and I've been busy swooning over all the behind-the-scenes photos she's been sharing from her weekend in Vegas. I mean, just look at her.
Her last two photos, though, have had much less of a behind-the-scenes #OOTD feel and much more of a mysterious something-big-is-about-to-happen feel. The "Gossip Girl" alum has started a game of hangman with her followers, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out what she's trying to tell us.
The game started with this photo, filled with all blanks that could spell out literally anything. "Who wants to play??" the 30-year-old captioned the photo.
Obviously, her followers were quick to start guessing -- "What happens in Vegas?" and "Baby Reynolds on board?" are among my favorites. Also, "Wait, Deadpool is alive?," another nod to her hubby, Ryan Reynolds.
Then, Lively posted another photo with one letter filled in!
OK...cool. We have a "W." Now what? "What happens in Vegas" still fits, and I am a pretty big fan of one person's guess, "Will Beyonce be there?" Unfortunately, these are all wrong, because if you study the posts back to back, you'll notice that Lively's finger is covering one of the blank spaces in the second photo. Sneaky, sneaky!
We'll have to wait until we get more letters to know for sure, but I would not be surprised if this was just one big burn on Ryan Reynolds. Perhaps "Will Deadpool be funny?"
[UPDATE 5/1/18 9:57 A.M.]
Since the photos above were posted, Lively filled in her entire hangman game and unfortunately for me, it was not a ploy to make fun of Ryan Reynolds. The blanks read "What happened to Emily?" and all it takes is a quick IMDb search to find out that Lively's character in the upcoming film "A Simple Favor" is named Emily, and the thriller's plot line centers around her going missing while her friend (Anna Kendrick) tries to find her.
Last night, the actress took her game a step further and actually deleted all of the photos on her Instagram account. Not only that, but she unfollowed everyone (including her hubby) other than people named Emily Nelson. This is a great marketing ploy, sure, but one has to wonder: is Lively going to keep her IG completely bare until "A Simple Favor" is released in September? I sincerely hope not.
