If there’s any website that can talk your ear off about lipstick, it’s Dailybreak. That being said, Bite Beauty is one of our favorites. From the minimalistic packaging to the enticing product names (trying to resist buying a lip color called “Chai” is fruitless and just plain sad), Bite is a makeup-lover’s dream.
And that’s before you consider their ethics. Their products are parabens-, sulfate- and cruelty-free, not to mention vegan and free of gluten. They’re really going after this “clean lip color” initiative, and are using the best marketing tool they have to appeal to the masses: good-looking men.
The brand is launching a series called #HotGuysMakingLipstick -- it’s as simple as that. While the point is really to showcase the clean ingredients that goes into Bite’s lip products (they say that the ingredients going on your mouth should be as good as those going in), you’ll be hard-pressed to think of a viable argument to not be excited about this. But just in case, let’s take a look at the first recipient: Wells Adams.
In a slow-motion, borderline sultry video posted to the lipsticks’ Instagram, Adams measures, mixes and molds a full stick of Bite’s Crystal Crème Shimmer Lip Crayon, which I’ll now be hitting up my local Sephora to buy immediately.
Why is Wells the best guy to kick off the series? I’m glad you asked!
Though he first gained prominence as the underdog on JoJo Fletcher’s season of “The Bachelorette” (Adams left the mansion in week six and Jordan Rodgers went on to win Fletcher’s heart) and subsequent appearances as a bartender on seasons 4 and 5 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” Adams has been a radio host in Nashville for over a decade for iHeartRadio stations.
And then in 2017, he started a podcast with Brandi Cyrus, Miley’s older sister. The two are good friends, having both been in and around the Nashville music scene, and “Your Favorite Thing with Wells and Brandi” is now in its second season and featuring pretty prolific guests now and again.
But all of that is nothing compared to his perfectly public relationship with “Modern Family” actress Sarah Hyland. The couple has been together for more than a self-dubbed annoyingly adorable year after connecting through social media, and Adams moved from Nashville to Los Angeles to live with Hyland back in October.
“I think you have to be emotionally ready for that and that’s number one,” he told Entertainment Tonight in September. “Then I think you have to find the person that compliments you the best, and Sarah is that for me. We’re both huge dorks, we have similar interests. Our brands are the same! Dogs, rosé, tacos, ‘The Bachelor!’”
Adams is notorious for defending his girl against internet trolls and Hyland makes it clear that she knows she’s nabbed a good one.
Point is, Bite Beauty knew what they were doing when they picked Adams for their inaugural #HotGuysMakingLipstick segment -- he’s a sweetheart.
