No two families are alike when it comes to celebrating the holidays. Some go at it easy, taking advantage of the time off from work to relax. Others go all out: decorating and caroling and baking to their wit’s end.
However you celebrate the holidays, some traditions will inevitably emerge. My Advent calendar (we string up little presents on a wreath in my house) will soon hang over the fireplace; I’ll create a wall full of Christmas cards as they start trickling in.
Balsam Hill decided to put those traditions on display. The Christmas retailer -- they specialize in holiday decor, artifical Christmas trees and the like, which sounds like brick-and-mortar heaven -- asked consumers around the world what their holiday traditions look like. Twelve of these stories stood out to them, and the result is their “Memories of Christmas Past” initiative, a series of 12 charming illustrations.
Meant to “take you back to the festivities of your youth,” Balsam Hill wrote in a press release, the hand-painted scenes detail everything from picking out a Christmas tree to sledding down a snow-capped hill, and if these don’t make you both nostalgic and oh so ready for December, I don't know what will.
