Do your current coworkers put you in a fowl mood? Does cold, snowy weather ruffle your feathers? If so, it might be time for you to rethink your current life path. Luckily, I might just have the perfect opportunity for you.
Baha Mar is a gorgeous, 1,000-acre luxury resort in the Bahamas that is currently on the hunt for a new CFO. Unlike most CFOs, however, this person wouldn't be dealing with the resort's financial affairs. No, they'd be dealing exclusively with Baha Mar's flamingos.
That's because CFO in this case refers to a Chief Flamingo Officer, A.K.A. someone ready and willing to look after the resort's flamingo flock. Unlike other dream jobs of mine (I'm looking at you, professional pizza eater), this CFO position isn't some kind of joke. Baha Mar operates a conservation sanctuary within the resort that is meant to preserve the Bahamas' natural species and habitats, and the flamingos are a key part of the sanctuary.
As a flamingo officer, you'd have to take care of the birds, develop and maintain the ideal flamingo diet for them, treat them when they're sick and "encourage, or discourage, the reproduction of the animals," according to the job post. You'd also give educational tours of the habitat to curious tourists, so grumpy avian managers need not apply.
It should also be noted that the Chief Flamingo Officer has perhaps the coolest office of all time -- a literal Flamingo Mansion. This is a state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor habitat for the birds, but I also like to think of it as a Versace-esque mansion where very classy birds lounge around acting all cool.
The job requirements include a college degree in zoology, over five years of experience working with exotic birds, over one year of managing people, good communication skills (presumably with both people and birds) and, of course, "basic computer skills."
