Anne-Marie isn’t necessarily a household name just yet, but she’s about to be stuck in your head until further notice.
The British singer-songwriter was featured on 2016’s chart-topper “Rockabye,” the Clean Bandit song she provided vocals for along with Sean Paul, and her debut album “Speak Your Mind” came out last month.
The best song off of it? “2002,” a reminiscent pop jam that Ed Sheeran helped pen that incorporates parts of everyone’s favorite hits from the 2000s into the chorus. You can just picture yourself at a sleepover with this song on repeat, prank calling your crush and painting each nail a different color.
“Oops, I got 99 problems singing bye, bye, bye” has not stopped circulating my brain since I first heard this song.
Anne-Marie just dropped the video for “2002,” and it’s the perfect accompaniment to the lyrics. It’s got Britney vibes, *NSYNC’s classic puppet choreography and Jay-Z’s trademark black and white.
Take me back to the good ol’ days, Anne-Marie.
