This is so....precious.
Although Andy Serkis appeared on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday to promote his role in the film "War for the Planet of the Apes," the actor had no problem revisiting one of his most iconic roles for the audience. At the request of Colbert, Serkis read a few of President Trump's tweets in the voice of Gollum from "Lord of the Rings" and it's more fabulous than you can possibly imagine.
Upon being handed a list of tweets, the 53-year-old actor quickly got into character by jumping up on his chair in the classic Gollum crouch. Then, in that high-pitched, spine-tingling voice that any LOTR fan knows oh-so well, he began reading one of Trump's tweets from this past June.
"The Fake News Media has never been so wrong or so dirty," he said. "Purposely incorrect stories and phony sources to meet their agenda of hate. Sad!"
For the grand finale, Colbert asked Serkis to read Trump's infamous "covfefe" tweet.
"Despite the constant negative press covfefe," Serkis read, unable to keep a straight face, adding, "Wait, what's covfefe, precious?"
